April 28th, World Day for Safety and Health at Work
World Day for Safety and Health at Work is celebrated annually on April 28 and promotes the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases worldwide.
It was in 1996 when for the first time this date was chosen as a commemorative day for workers who are victims of occupational accidents and diseases. In 2003, it became a world ephemeris in order to achieve maximum social diffusion.
Along with accident prevention, it is vitally important to train workers on how to act in the event of an emergency situation. First aid is vital and knowledge of it is provided in the workplace so that any worker can intervene in these situations. This know-how will be key to ensure that injuries and problems resulting from occupational accidents can evolve satisfactorily.
Aware of this importance, SOLTRA in Denmark organized together with Falck A/S a First Aid and Fire Fighting course on April 19 and 21. Claus Sejer Pedersen and Peer Nielsen provided both theoretical and practical training to our employees.
