March, a month for equality. SOLTRA, a committed company

4 Mar. 2020 | SOLTRA, SOLTRA

In many countries, March 8 marks the International Women’s Day, established by the UN in 1955. Although it has its origin in claiming the equality of working women in the Industrial Revolution, today the role of women in society is claimed.

But equality cannot be a thing of one day but of everyone. Article 14 of the Spanish Constitution proclaims the right to equality and non-discrimination based on sex. Equality between women and men is a universal legal principle recognized in various international texts.

Equal opportunities have proven to be a guarantee of quality and improvement of the work environment. It helps to build a coherent professional project that respects the rights of working personnel by encouraging their integration into the company on equal terms.

SOLTRA has demonstrated its clear commitment to equal opportunities between women and men by developing an Equality Plan.

As an international company, this policy is implemented in all delegations. Thus in Cinia Mexico, one also works for equality. The federal government has the standard NMX-R-025-SCFI-2015 in Labor Equality and Non-Discrimination. This rule is intended to certify that work centers have practices of equality and non-discrimination. In Cinia we have developed an Equality Plan in accordance with these regulations.

Equality plans are a set of measures agreed upon among all the members of the company in order to achieve equal treatment and opportunities between women and men. It establishes the objectives to be achieved, the strategies to be carried out, as well as a series of monitoring systems to evaluate the achievement of each of the agreed objectives.

With these instruments, SOLTRA intends to ensure the absence of discriminatory procedures or policies based on sex in terms of selection, hiring, training, promotion and remuneration. It seeks, in turn, to facilitate the reconciliation of family, personal and work life through concrete measures that enable the optimal compatibility of the work and private spheres. Of course, SOLTRA considers any type of sexual or sexual harassment situation unacceptable as stated in its Harassment Protocol.
