Mexico and Spain getting closer. Mr Antonino’s project keep growing
SOLTRA project in Spain has crossed borders and since 2005 the idea of Mr. Antonino Fernández to create employment for people with different abilities is also established in Mexico. Nowadays his nephew Carlos Fernández continues his legacy with the same enthusiasm.
This year marks 15 years since D. Antonino created the company called with his wife name: Cinia. An example that opens possibilities and provides opportunities to those who have it harder. Located in the city of Puebla, where it has established different lines of products and services, being its main activities: gardening, crafts (custom handmade dolls), textil (industrial uniforms, embroidery, prints, sublimated, robes, pants, shirts …) cleaning and conditioning. It has 350 workers of which 88% have some type of disability, whether motor, sensory or intellectual.
Currently, the implementation of the automotive line in its Mexican subsidiary is included in the SOLTRA internationalization plan. For this reason, in November, a group of Cinia workers traveled to León to participate in intensive training sessions on obtaining the IATF 16949quality certificate for the homologation of the new wiring line to be implemented in Cinia Mexico. This certificate has become an essential condition for any organization that works in the global automobile manufacturing supply chain.
In early January, José Antonio Idoeta (General Director of SOLTRA), David Sordo (Director of Quality and Environment) and Florencio Sánchez (Director of the Automotive Division) traveled to Mexico to prepare the relevant audits.
They also took advantage of their trip to Mexican lands to visit the facilities of SAS Automotive Systems, a leading company in the automotive sector specializing in the assembly and testing of cockpits for vehicles. For more than 20 years, SAS has been synonymous with reliability and innovative know-how in the cabin systems sector, with innovative interior and dashboard modules. It has offices in Europe, North America and South America, one of them being located in the Mexican town of Puebla.
