The “Residencia Doña Cinia” is León’s first residence for the mentally ill and has become a reference in Castile y León.
The Residence is located in La Virgen del Camino and has 40 places (32 single and 4 double bedrooms) located on the top floor of the old seminary of the Dominicans. More than 25 professionals work there: caregivers, educators, occupational therapists, psychologists and social workers, with the aim of equipping residents with the necessary supports that promote their quality of life.
The “Residencia Doña Cinia” is a resource managed by the Fundación Solidaridad y Trabajo Virgen del Camino in collaboration with the Junta de Castilla y León to try to respond to the accommodation needs of people with mental illness, within a normalized and inclusive context.
Attended by a team of professionals from the social area 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, the residence collaborates with the health and community resources of the nearest environment as well as with the Social Services Management, which has the award of places.
