SOLTRA renews its ISO 14001 environmental management certificate

13 Jul. 2022 | SOLTRA

SOLTRA has once again achieved the renewal of the AENOR Environmental Management certification based on the international ISO 14001 standard. In this way, the entity revalidates a certificate it obtained for the first time in 2013. This recognition certifies that SOLTRA complies with the requirements of the ISO 14001 Standard and that it has implemented an environmental management system that helps to prevent environmental impacts, using the necessary means to avoid, reduce or control them, but always in balance with socio-economic rationality.

The certification ceremony took place at SOLTRA’s headquarters in La Virgen del Camino (León) with the presence of Ms. Inmaculada García Garrandes (Director AENOR Castilla y León) and the General Manager of SOLTRA Mr. José Antonio Idoeta and Mr. David Sordo (Quality and Environment Manager of SOLTRA). In the words of Inmaculada García “all the work carried out by SOLTRA to achieve these certifications is commendable. The great growth of the company and the diversity of divisions and activities it has, makes its achievement even more meritorious”.

SOLTRA, for more than 20 years, has been establishing measures to achieve constant improvement in the quality of the products and services provided, controlling processes, efficiently managing resources, and ensuring the satisfaction of both staff and customers. For this reason, in recent years they have implemented systems in their centres in Spain, Mexico and Denmark that have enabled them to improve production processes by obtaining certifications such as:

UNE-EN ISO 9001 standard, which certifies that since 2006 the organisation has implemented a quality management system that is committed to continuous improvement, which means an improvement in the processes, eliminating the costs of “non-quality”. It also achieves greater involvement of professionals in a job well done and greater conviction in transmitting the commitment to quality. The certified activities are cleaning, marketing services, laundry, industrial assembly and gardening in Spain, storage, preparation for assembly, packaging and delivery of components for the wind turbine sector in Denmark and the textile, cleaning, gardening and logistics activities in Mexico.

IATF 16949 is the automotive quality management certificate we achieved in 2019. This certification is a prerequisite for working in the automotive sector. Many of the world’s leading automakers make this certification a contractual requirement for their suppliers, therefore a ticket to the automotive industry worldwide. Both in our headquarters in Spain and in Mexico we have certified under this standard our activity of assembly of electrical components and the production and assembly of lighting assemblies.

UNE-EN ISO 14001 standard, we obtain economic benefits by optimising the consumption of energy, raw materials and water, improving processes and reducing legal risks. This certificate was first obtained in 2013 in Spain, in Mexico and Denmark in 2021. During this year 2022 we have reinforced our commitment to sustainability by implementing a self-consumption solar installation at our headquarters in Virgen del Camino and the acquisition of two “zero-emission” vehicles.
