Sowing seeds of inclusion from SOLTRA’s gardening service
In our goal of achieving the labor inclusion of people with different abilities through employment, the gardening activity is another of the activities that we have at SOLTRA.
Since 2002 when we started this service, there have been many customers who have joined our inclusion project. It seems that it was yesterday when we started with that first maintenance of the gardens of Caja España (current UNICAJA) in Alto del Portillo (León) but there are almost twenty years that have passed and currently there are more than 50 customers who trust us.
SOLTRA’s gardening service is responsible for the maintenance of all types of gardens and the realization of urbanization projects and beautification of urban and industrial environments serving customers, both individuals and public entities and companies. To guarantee green areas with a great aesthetic value it is necessary to carry out conservation work, as well as make a correct choice of the species that fit with the environment. Thanks to our extensive experience in the sector, we have the ability to adapt to the diverse needs of each space offering a service with the highest quality standards. Our gardening service has the ISO UNE 9001-2000 certificate from AENOR since 2007.
The gardening activity is also part of the Personalized Itineraries program that the Soltra Foundationhas. A program co-financed by the European Social Fund and that we carry out in collaboration with the social services of the Junta de Castilla y León. A 200-hour program to help the group of people with disabilities in their incorporation into the labor market, valuing their abilities and abilities.
In addition, gardening is an activity that has multiple benefits, helps to improve motor skills effectively, helps in the control of aggressiveness and anxiety and is an ideal tool for improving self-esteem. It is optimal for those people who have some motor and learning difficulties as it allows them to work with their own hands and helps them to focus on one goal, that of keeping the plants well maintained.
