“You’re What You Share”: Solidarity Campaign for Food Collection
SOLTRA in collaboration with the Banco de Alimentos de León launch the “You are what you share” campaign at our Eroski City supermarket located in Puente Villarente (León). The objective is to reinforce the important social work that the Food Bank of León is carrying out during the COVID-19 pandemic, assisting the many people currently experiencing a complicated economic situation.
According to data provided by the Spanish Federation of Food Banks, in 2019 they attended a total of 1,100,000 people and with COVID-19 have increased this demand, providing that by the end of 2020 they will have resorted to the aid provided by the different Spanish Food Banks, around the 1,500,000 people.
This establishment of SOLTRA in collaboration with Vegalsa Eroski is a pioneering initiative of social innovation in the community of Castilla y León, being the first supermarket totally inclusive of it. The 8 workers you have, have been an example during the toughest stage of the COVID 19 crisis, being at the forefront and providing an essential service for all the inhabitants of the area.
From July 22nd until the 5th of August, the collection of non-perishable products will be operational at the Eroski Supermarket of Puente Villarente. In this way, those who come to the establishment to make the purchase, can put their grain of sand in these difficult moments and acquire the food that is most needed.
The products that are specially needed are: oil, sugar, fried tomato, cocoa powder and fish conserves.
